SEA ONION (Urginea maritima)

There’s a revolution that needs to happen and it starts from inside each one of us. We need to wake up and fall in love with Earth. Our personal and collective happiness and survival depends on it.

    1. I’m the same in many ways, but last year’s 111-day lockdown/curfew in Melbourne and my inability to go out walking for much of the last 2 years has definitely made me more an indoors person. Still hoping my hip replacement surgery Dec ’20 will one day give me back the walking ability I want. I can well imagine how wonderful it must be to live in such a rustic area as you do though.
Having said that, I must admit the lockdown and blissful quiet on my little road and birdsong must make me one of the luckiest apartment dwellers in any urban setting. I’ve spent hours watching the birds (and now field mice nesting in the base of my Rosemary bush plastic pot) and they’ve been a real life-saver.

When I wake in the morning, the silence is Golden.

Many city workers are now working from home permanently making the roads and air quality greatly improved.

      1. I think your new hip will give you the boost that you need. A good friend had that done last fall and now she is walking better than she had in many years and allof the pain is gone. It takes time and care and patience.

  1. That’s a beautiful quote. There’s no question that you love this earth. I read your reply above – field mice nesting in the rosemary pot, I love it! And all that birdsong, that’s good. Yes, there have been some good changes, along with the bad. Good luck with the hip.

    1. I’ve come across some really beautiful nature quotes since making them part of this temporary blog.

Truly the birdsong has been extraordinary in the last 7-8 months and with my sliding door and windows open, I can see and hear it all from my desk chair.

      1. Ah, that’s wonderful! It’s going to be quite a few months before we can leave a window open but they have begun singing…such a pleasure! I’m glad the pandemic has brought you some gifts, especially while you recuperate.
