I don’t tell the murky world
to turn pure.
I purify myself
and check my reflection
in the water of the valley brook.
Ryoken, 1758–1831, Zen monk and poet

The small cascade of water pouring over some large rocks is beside/behind the tree in the middle of the following photo made in the Treasury Gardens on the eastern perimeter of Melbourne’s CBD (Central Business District).

A lovely thought, and some enticing photos!

Always good to see a cormorant drying its wings.

I agree, Peggy. I see them here, just down on a rock at my local river, as well as further downriver near the Newells Paddock Nature Reserve.

We see them in Commonwealth Park. It’s pouring rain today. I wonder what they do then?

If I can find the images, I’ll post the ones of bedraggled birds after getting soaking wet. Remember the tiny fairy wren walking up and down the water on the balcony fence. I suggested it was dancing in the rain at the time of posting on my old nature blog.
