Made on the 12th of February 2012 in country Victoria (all within half an hour as the sun set).
And finally, on the 25th of December that same year….
I’m a great believer in taking time to smell the Roses (as the saying goes).
But I’m even more inclined to watch the sunset.
It never ceases to amaze me how many colours can occur in a short period of time on the same day.
That’s right. And sometimes you can double your pleasure by turning around and looking at the opposite horizon. The colors there can be just as amazing as where the sun’s actually setting.Beyond that, it took me some time to learn to wait, after the sun had disappeared below the horizon. The best show sometimes comes then.

Isn’t it so. I think that is one of my brother’s horses in that last shot. He’s got 3 now, including a beautiful old racehorse that was going to be……….you know what.
I love being in the country.

I had a horse, Joe, for many years and placed him with a friend on a dairy farm when I moved overseas. In his later years, Joe was the ‘eyes’ for a blind, retired racehorse, Nightship. It was amazing to see them together. Joe was 30 and Nightship was 8 or 9.
